| THE EXTERNALS... ...those who continue to study outside of Casa Guatemala |
|
At Casa Guatemala the children attend the free primary school on site. However, after sixth grade, the students are no longer obligated by law to continue their studies. At Casa Guatemala, we encourage the continuation of their education to the secondary level, but this is only possible through the kind economic support of student sponsors. In 2009, twenty kids studied at four different schools: La Salle in Chiquimula, Las Lajas in Petén, ColPri in Fronteras, and El Hall in Zacapa. |

These young men live and study four hours from Casa Guatemala. Elmer and Francisco are currently in their fifth year studying accounting. They will graduate from secondary school in November 2010. Josue, Milton, and Oliver are in their last year of básico. This year they must decide on a specialty to study at the high school level and may need to change schools and/or living situations depending on their choice of study. Sponsoring Depending on the school, sponsoring a child is between $1500- $2000 per student for the entire year. This price includes tuition, transportation, boarding, and school supplies for the ten months of a school year. If you are willing and able to sponsor one of these students, you can do it in one of two ways. One option is to pay the entire amount in December through PayPal. In this way, Seño Angie can pay the schools in January. The other option is to make monthly payments through PayPal. The monthly payment is between $150- $200 for 10 months. CASA GUATEMALA PROVIDES A SECURE LOVING HOME TO SO MANY DESERVING CHILDREN. PLEASE HELP US CONTINUE WITH YOUR CONTRIBUTION OR SPONSORSHIP! |
