Here is the hydroponics greenhouse, inside are crops of tomato and cucumber. The hydroponics method involves growing the plants over stones supplied with an idealized nutrient mixture i.e. without the use of soil. This improves production dramatically. The children help here sometimes but usually a volunteer is in charge of the work with help from the Guatemalan employees. The volunteers who help on the farm also take care of the administration of the farm.
