Between the comedor and the workers residence is the laundry, where there childrens clothes, sheets and towels are washed. The clothes are strung out on lines that stretch towards the river, to dry in the sun.
Six women perform the daily task of washing all of the dirty laundry. Soap and cold river water are used to scrub the clothes in concrete basins.
