Construction efforts on the bridge

The completed bridge

The 310 foot long bridge that joined the living areas in Casa Guatemala village with the farm was destroyed during the July 99 earthquake. At that time, the bridge was mended as an emergency situation, but never really reconstructed properly until recently.

After looking for alternatives and asking for help from many friends, we received a generous donation of U.S.$2,300 from Marie Hilsy and Mark Reynolds of England (who also offered their skills to help construct the bridge themselves).

Our wonderful friends in Canada, through Mr. Bob Carkner, contributed an additional U.S.$3,000 towards the construction.

Very proudly, we now present to you our new bridge.

Thanks Marie & Mark from England and Bob from Canada.
Your contributions and support has made possible the reconstruction of such an important and busy bridge.
